Pictures, take 2!

Dec. 11th, 2013

This week was awesome. Like usual our teacher/investigator told us when we taught her Monday that it was the best lesson we gave. We went in with no notes and just taught by the Spirit and she said the Spirit is really strong! I think she really likes me because she is always telling me how well I am doing. She is just so awesome!!!! It’s funny because the Mexican elders love me! Random ones will just come to me and ask me to play volleyball with them or tell me I am so good at volleyball, it is hilarious! They are so fun!!! And it is helping me practice speaking Spanish which is super helpful!!! But it was also funny because one of the Mexican teachers came up to me today while I was eating lunch and asked me where I learned to eat my tortillas because I guess I eat them like Mexicans and him and 2 other teachers were impressed that I was eating them that way!!! It was super funny!!! I was able to attend the temple again! It was awesome as usual!!! I just love going through the temple it really just makes me feel so close to God!!! I feel the spirit just being on the grounds! But it was such an awesome experience!!! I was able to watch the First Presidency Christmas devotional on Sunday! They broadcasted it from Salt Lake!!! It was really awesome!!! It was good to hear the Prophet speak again!!! I was also able to listen to Elder Cook of the Quorum of the 12 speak yesterday which was awesome. He talked about the mission calls being called of God!!! I always love hearing that because I know that Texas is exactly where I am needed and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to serve!!!!  But ya, I love it here and am sad to go but I am also so excited to get to Texas!!!! But ya!!! Thanks for being the best mom in the world i love you sooooooo much!!!!

Thanksgiving here was different but really awesome!!! In Mexico their big meals are always lunch so every lunch we have a nice sized meal. For Thanksgiving we had a big turkey lunch! I was able to eat it all but the pumpkin pie. I did get ice cream though which was awesome!!! The devotional was incredible, we listened to Elder Nelson from the Quorum of the 12! It was such an amazing talk!!! The lessons are going… I feel like I’ve learned a lot and have memorized over 100 verbs, but still have a lot to go. I have been working really hard! It was funny, yesterday after we taught our investigator: aka our teacher, she came and asked me how many verbs I knew because she could tell I was using them. She was really impressed! It is super hard to conjugate them, but we have a bunch of natives that will come and help us! They are super nice and play volleyball with us every day! It sounds like your Thanksgiving was a blast! I missed your cooking and I still miss your cooking!! I told Cassie that when we finish our missions I am going to have her come over so she can try your gluten free pizza!! We have already planned all this stuff we are going to do together after we return home. It’s awesome!!! I am going to miss her like crazy!!! Sounds like Rianna loves the kids, which is super good! It seems like they need it! I almost started crying just reading about them. They are definitely in our home for a reason! I am so glad that you and dad followed the spirit of God and chose to do foster care! You guys are seriously my heroes and I look up to both of you so much. I hope I can touch people lives the way you and dad touch so many people’s lives!!! I love you both so MUCH and miss you like CRAZY!!!

Hey family! What are you going to do for Thanksgiving? At the CCM were having a devotional tomorrow night for Thanksgiving, I am really excited!!! The package still has not arrived hopefully in the next couple of days. Spanish class is going good. Last night me and Cassie tried to only speak to each other in Spanish, it was hard but we did it using the dictionary a lot. This week was really good. Thursday was a major testimony and confidence booster for me. For class we joined in with a group of the Latinos. They taught us then we taught them. I had brought my whole plan that I was going to teach. I was planning on just reading it. When I went to start teaching the Hermana I got a feeling I should scratch that lesson and tell her about my 9th grade year. In my head I was thinking that was so crazy, I can’t speak that much Spanish. I did it anyway, and although I struggled through most of the words I was able to tell her my story. I asked her how she felt after I finished and she started to cry. I was a little confused. I didn’t think I told the story good enough but I could tell the spirit touched her. She kept thanking me and hugging me. I realized then that I just need to teach by the spirit and it will all work out.
We also did a thing called TRC where we teach volunteers, but our teacher gave Cassie and me a real investigator, right when he told us we both were like filled with the spirit and taught a really awesome lesson! It was so super cool! It gets me excited to get out on the field.
We went to the temple today and went through in Spanish. It was pretty difficult but such a cool experience. That temple is just beautiful. Sitting in the celestial room is just my favorite. I was overcome with the spirit. It’s such a cool thing having the spirit with you like 24\7. It really is a blessing.
But ya, that’s my week keep me updated on the lil’ ones they seem like so fun!
Love you ssoooooo much and miss you like crazy!!!!
